New Writing Festival

The New Writing Festival occurs every year. It is a script-writing competition with the following categories:

• Best Full Length Play

• Best Scene

• Best Prompted Scene

• Best Monologue

An undergraduate or postgraduate of the university of Oxford can submit one piece of writing in total for one of the categories. Each piece of writing will then be shortlisted by the OUDS committee before being reviewed by a guest judge, usually someone who is well-versed professionally in scripts in some way, who decides the winner of each category.

There will be a celebration to follow this where the winners will be officially announced and some scenes will be read out once the winners are decided.
