Crocodile Tears by Natascha Norton

Show Title: Crocodile Tears by Natascha Norton

Description: CASTING CALL Crocodile Tears by Natascha Norton | WEEK 7 TRINITY | BT STUDIO EARLY SLOT |
A mul
timedia memory-fest. A bedroom. A blackout. A summer of spritz, secrets, and slipping between languages.
CW/ physical proximity, themes of infidelity, dissociation, intrusive thoughts, mental health, pregnancy and references to female bodily autonomy, strong language, sexual references, alcohol and smoking with flashing images, rapid projections and projected imagery including blood, menstruation, used pregnancy tests, and controversial cultural content.
THEATRE x FILM = Your Showreel Moment
Crocodile Tears is a poetic, emotionally-charged two-hander exploring memory, intimacy, and the fine line between projection and reality. It’s theatre - but also film. This show will serve as development of a longer-term project … (a short film etc.)
THE VISION
Think: Perfect Days by Wim Wenders. Think: Guadagnino, dream-logic, and turning your heartbreak into art. Expect expressive blocking, striking visuals, and your face captured in close-up. A duet of vulnerability and visuals.
ROLES
This is a two-hander. We are open to casting across backgrounds and identities, and welcome performers who bring nuance, specificity, and emotional intelligence.
HER – Female-presenting
Emotive, messy, magnetic. A spiralling, self-aware protagonist caught between performance and truth. Has an opinion about everyone’s Letterboxd.
Any ethnicity | Some movement experience a plus
HIM – Male-presenting
Charming, withholding, and unexpectedly poetic. Has that “I know a shortcut” energy but gets lost anyway. A master of casual intensity.
Any ethnicity | Accent or Italian connection preferred
Both roles are intimate and dynamic. This is a show about what is said, what is imagined, and what is left unsaid.

Show Title: Bear

Description: BEAR - BT STUDIO 10TH-14TH JUNE (TTW7 LATE SLOT) and EDINBURGH FRINGE 17TH-23RD AUGUST

A girl lost in the woods , the start of every dark fairy tale. An attack by a Bear, and a rescue by a friendly lumberjack – but is everything as it seems?

Coffee Cup Productions and is staging our new and exciting play Bear in Oxford this upcoming term and taking it to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August -- We are looking for 2 actors to join our cast!

Intertwining fairy tales and folklore with the viral “Man vs Bear” debate, Bear is about a Girl who goes on a camping trip, where she is saved from a bear attack by what seems to be a knight in shining armour. She is brought into a log cabin, safe, only until his true colours show...

This two-hander with Man and Bear played by the same actor explores duality, manipulation and revenge, discussing one of the most profound fears for women, and the reasons why most would rather face the cruelty of an animal than a human.

This first round of auditions will be by self-tape -- we ask actors to submit by 23:59 on Friday 18th of April
